About The Scam
Scammers are always finding new ways to trick people, and one of the latest scams making the rounds on Discord uses nothing more than a handful of images.
At first glance, the message might not seem suspicious. It usually contains several images showing things like cryptocurrency wallets, fake profits, or screenshots of tweets from well-known people promoting a coin or giveaway. The sender might even ask something simple like, “Is this real?” or “Have you seen this before?”
The aim is simple: get you curious enough to click a link, scan a QR code, or visit a website.
How the Scam Works
The images are designed to look convincing. They often include:
- Fake cryptocurrency profits or wallet balances.
- Screenshots of posts from famous people.
- QR codes leading to fake websites.
- Graphs showing unrealistic investment returns.
Although the images themselves usually aren’t harmful, they’re used to build trust and encourage you to take the next step, which is exactly what the scammers want.
What They’re Trying to Do
Once you visit the website or follow their instructions, they may try to:
- Steal your Discord login details.
- Trick you into connecting your cryptocurrency wallet.
- Get you to download malware disguised as legitimate software.
- Collect personal or financial information.
If they gain access to your Discord account, they’ll often use it to send the same scam to everyone on your friends list, making it look like the message came from someone you know.
How to Protect Yourself
If you receive a message like this, the safest thing to do is:
- Don’t click any links shown in the images.
- Don’t scan any QR codes.
- Don’t download files from people you don’t trust.
- Double-check any cryptocurrency promotions through official sources.
- Block and report the account if the message looks suspicious.
- Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) on your Discord account if you haven’t already.

Don’t panic, but act quickly.
Change your Discord password as soon as possible, log out of all active sessions, and make sure two-factor authentication is enabled. If you downloaded anything, run a full antivirus scan. If you connected a cryptocurrency wallet to the website, disconnect it immediately and consider moving your funds to a new wallet.
It’s also worth letting your friends know if your account may have been compromised, so they don’t fall victim to the same scam.

Scammers rely on people acting without thinking. If a message seems unusual, promises easy money, or encourages you to act quickly, it’s always worth taking a moment to question it.
